East Legon, one of Accra's finest and most expensive neighbourhoods, is located on the eastern side of Legon, an Accra suburb. Its proximity to the Kotoka International Airport makes it one of the most desirable places for foreigners to settle in Ghana. East Legon is part of the Accra Metropolitan District and is bordered to the west by Adjiringanor, to the east by Little Legon, to the north by Madina, and to the south by Cantonments.
East Legon is unique among Accra's towns in that it has a number of private tertiary institutions, some of which offer foreign degrees. Webster University, where students benefit from individualised instruction in small class sizes, Knutsford University College, Radford University, an affiliate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, ILMA Institute of Science and Technology, and Islamic University, a faith-based educational institution dedicated to instilling moral values in its students, are among these institutions.
